George Moore half-length, half-turned to his left. Commissioned by Moore, painted in his home at 121 Ebury Street, London SW1, where the picture hung until he died. It was inherited by his friend Lady Cunard (along with other pictures in his collection) and gifted to Benjamin Guinness, Christmas 1934.

Exhibited at the Royal Academy, Winter Exhibition, London, 1928, no. 67; R.W.S. Galleries, Margaret Fisher Prout Memorial Exhibition, London, 1966, including work by Mark Fisher, no. 102. Published in George Moore, Esther Waters, Carra Edition (1922) as a frontispiece. Owned by the Dufferin Foundation, Clandeboye Estate, Bangor, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, UK, care of Sir Ian Huddleston.
