George Moore’s fifth play Diarmuid and Grania was written with William Butlet Yeats for the Irish Literary Theatre. It premiered on 10 October 1901.
Diarmuid and Grania was first published in Dublin Magazine (Volume XXVI, Number 2, April-June 1951) with an introduction by William Becker.
William J. Becker (1927-2015) was a Rhodes Scholar at Wadham College, Oxford University, when he transcribed the play from a typescript belonging to a man he named J. Milward. Becker went on to a notable career in theater and film.
