This statement describes GMi privacy policies with respect to anonymous visitors, subscribers and followers, and members of the GMi community (collectively, “visitors and members”).
Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
PII refers to any information that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains, including, but not limited to, name, address, phone number, email address, financial profiles, social security number, and credit card information.
PII does not refer to information that is collected anonymously (that is, without identification of the individual visitor) or demographic information not connected to an identified individual.
What PII is collected?
GMi may collect anonymous information from all visitors to GMi websites. It may also collect the following PII from visitors and members:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone
What organizations are collecting the information?
In addition to GMi collection of PII, third party service providers such as banks may themselves collect PII from visitors and members. GMi does not control how third parties use PII, but it does ask them to disclose how they use PII provided to them by visitors and members. Some third parties may be intermediaries that do not store, retain, or use the PII given to them.
How does GMi use PII?
GMi uses PII to customize its websites, make appropriate service offerings, and fulfill buying and selling requests. GMi may email visitors and members about research or purchase and selling opportunities on its websites or information related to the subject matter of the websites. GMi may also use PII to contact visitors and members in response to specific inquiries, or to provide requested information.
With whom may the information may be shared?
PII about visitors and members may be shared with members who wish to qualify potential transactions with GMi. GMi may share aggregated information, including the demographics of visitors and members, with our affiliated agencies and third party vendors. GMi may also provide visitors and members the opportunity to “opt out” of receiving information or being contacted by GMi or by any agency acting on GMi’s behalf.
How is PII stored?
PII collected by GMi is securely stored and is not accessible to third parties or employees of GMi except for use as indicated above.
What choices are available to visitors?
Visitors and registered users may opt out of receiving unsolicited information from or being contacted by GMi and/or its vendors and affiliated agencies by responding to emails as instructed, or by contacting bob@georgemooreinteractive.org.
Are Cookies Used on GMI sites?
Cookies are used for a variety of reasons. GMi uses cookies to obtain information about the preferences of our visitors and members and the services they select. GMi also uses cookies for security purposes to protect members. For example, if a member is logged on and the site is unused for more than 10 minutes, GMi will log off the member.
How does GMi use login information?
GMi uses login information, including, but not limited to, IP addresses, ISPs, and browser types, to analyze trends, administer the websites, track a user’s movement and use, and gather broad demographic information.
Who has access to PII?
GMi has entered into or will continue to enter into partnerships and other affiliations with vendors. Such vendors may have access to certain PII on a need to know basis for evaluating visitors and members for service eligibility. Our privacy policy does not cover their collection or use of this information.
Disclosure of PII to comply with law.
GMi will disclose PII in order to comply with a court order or subpoena or a request from a law enforcement agency to release information. GMi will also disclose PII when reasonably necessary to protect the safety of our visitors and members.
How does a website keep PII secure?
All GMi employees are familiar with our security policy and practices. The PII of visitors and registered users is only accessible to a limited number of qualified employees who are given a password in order to gain access to the information. GMi audits security systems and processes on a regular basis. Sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or social security numbers, is protected by encryption protocols, in place to protect information sent over the Internet. While GMi takes commercially reasonable measures to maintain a secure site, electronic communications and databases are subject to errors, tampering and break-ins, and GMi cannot guarantee or warrant that such events will not take place and it will not be liable to visitors and members for any such occurrences.
Correcting any inaccuracies in PII?
Visitors and members may contact GMi to update their PII or to correct any inaccuracies by emailing bob@georgemooreinteractive.org.
Delete or deactivate PII?
Visitors and members may request deletion/deactivation of PII in the website’s databases by contacting bob@georgemooreinteractive.org. However, because of backups and records of deletions, it may be impossible to delete an individual’s PII without leaving some residual information. An individual who requests to have PII deleted/deactivated will have this information functionally deleted, and GMi will not sell, transfer, or use PII relating to that individual in any way moving forward.
If the Privacy Policy Changes?
GMi will inform visitors and members about changes to privacy policy by posting such changes in its newsletter. However, if GMi intends to change the privacy policy in a manner that might cause disclosure of PII that visitors and members previously requested not be disclosed, GMI will contact visitors and members to allow them to prevent such disclosure.
