Explore a Literary Legacy

George Moore (1852-1933) was a creative Irish writer of modernist fiction, memoir, essay, drama and poetry. A contributor to several “movements,” he is fondly remembered as a purist who made art for art’s sake.

George’s literary legacy has seven pillars in different stages of development. Peruse them freely; post questions or suggestions on any page.

  1. Iconography has pictures of people, places and things
  2. Aesthetics has literary and art criticism
  3. Worlds has fiction, autobiography and essays
  4. Letters has personal and business correspondence
  5. Bibliography builds on Edwin Gilcher’s published data
  6. Chronology has a biographical timeline
  7. Collections has a guide to primary source materials
