Aet. 34, to a French man of letters. Dujardin co-founded the third series of the Revue indépendante in 1886. The Revue‘s prospectus announced that Félix Fénéon was editor in chief, Stéphane Mallarmé drama critic, Joris-Karl Huysmans art critic, Auguste Villiers de l’Isle-Adam music critic, Téodor de Wyzewa literary critic; and contributions were expected from Adam, Alexis, Maurice Barrès, Henry Becque, Paul Bourget, Henry Céard, Edmond de Goncourt, Octave Mirbeau, Paul Verlaine, Émile Zola and others.
