In the autumn of 1880, after George Moore returned from Paris and resettled in London, he and his sister Nina visited their aunt Catherine Blake O’Conor at her estate, the former Bishop’s Palace in Elphin, County Roscommon. From there they traveled to Moore Hall where they remained until spring.
