Signed in pencil below image by the engraver: Wm Strang, inscribed by David Strang with title and: Perhaps 3rd state of 4. DS. George Moore half-length, his left arm slightly raised.

This is the second frontispiece of Moore’s Confessions of a Young Man. Like the third by Mortimer Menpes, it was drawn from a photograph by William Page supplied by Moore. Strang’s fee of ten pounds was deducted from Moore’s royalties.
