According to Joseph Hone in The Life of George Moore (1936, page 67), Mary Robinson (1857-1944) met George Moore when he was introduced to her father S.T. Robinson in their London home circa 1877. Her father was an architect and the editor of the Art Monthly Review (which did not publish George’s criticism).

Mary became an aesthete like George, a writer of fiction and poetry, a critic and lover of cosmopolitan life who remained his lifelong friend. Her “Souvenirs sur George Moore” appeared in La Revue de Paris (1 March 1933, pp 110-130).

Mary’s younger sister Frances Mabel was also a girlfriend.
