Overview of Iconography

Menu of Iconography

This Iconography updates lectures that I presented at the University of Pittsburgh (1982) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (1983); and published in the Irish Arts Review (Vol 2, No 4, winter 1985).

In addition to George Moore himself, the Iconography covers people who played notable roles in his life and work: members of his immediate family, lovers and friends, peers and publishers.

The Iconography also shows places where Moore lived or frequented, looking somewhat as he saw them many years ago, and in some cases how they look today.

Low-resolution images of pictures are presented for reference. Visitors seeking high-resolution pictures or the right to reproduce may contact the owners; they are identified when I know who they are.

The Iconography is under construction. I urge visitors to Leave a Reply on any page with incorrect or incomplete data; or use the Contact page.
