Undated photograph of Alfred Nutt (Wikimedia Commons)
Alfred Trübner Nutt (1856-1910), son of bookseller and publisher David Nutt (1810-1863), published under his father’s imprint just one title of George Moore: a collection of essays entitled Impressions and Opinions (London: David Nutt, 1891).
Alfred’s deep affinities with Celtic myth and legend may have intrigued George Moore ahead of his close association with W.B. Yeats starting in the 1890s.
