Henry Julian Moore (1864-1916) was George Moore’s youngest sibling. His years of birth and death are uncertain; he isn’t known to have married.
He was probably born at Moore Hall while his oldest brother was enrolled but not residing at Oscott College; he would have been raised there and in London while living with his parents.
I have not found information about his education or vocation, other than census data showing that he lived for a time in London as a writer. Three published essays by him are:
- “Book Collecting as a Fine Art” (Fortnightly Review, November 1895)
- Introduction to Frederick Marchmont’s The Three Cruikshanks. A Bibliographical Catalogue (London: W.T. Spencer, 1897)
- “A Lost Principle of Beauty in Architecture” (Fortnightly Review, December 1899)
