What is the Metropole Hotel?

George Moore stayed at the luxurious Metropole Hotel in Trafalgar Square in 1887, two years after it opened. In that busy year he published A Mere Accident and Parnell and His Island; and wrote Confessions of a Young Man mostly while living with friends in Sussex
