Who is Ada Leverson?

Nicknamed The Sphinx by her close friend Oscar Wilde, Ada Esther Beddington Leverson (1862-1933) was was a novelist, journalist and memoirist from an exceptional Jewish family in London. She purportedly had a love affair with George Moore in the 1890s, while unhappily married with children.
