George Moore regularly stayed at the Hôtel Continental during visits to Paris, 1881-1898. It was and still is a luxury hotel, situated since 1875 at 3 Rue de Castiglione. In 1898 the Hôtel Ritz, also known for attracting literary and artistic guests, opened in the Place Vendôme.

Today the Hôtel Continental is the Westin Paris – Vendôme.
