Who is Sarah Cecilia Harrison?

Undated, signed oil on canvas, probably true to the artist’s look when she painted her magnificent portrait of George Moore in 1907; at the time she was 44 years old.

She and Moore were active in Irish progressive causes. They were also mutual friends of Hugh Lane; in 1908 they helped Lane establish the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art in Dublin, now called the Hugh Lane Gallery.
