Cicely Mary Hammill, known as Cicely Hamilton (1872-1952) was a London-born actress, playwright, journalist and feminist advocate for women’s suffrage.
In The Observer (London, 25 November 1917) George Moore wrote an exceptionally positive review of her book Senlis, praising her myriad artistic gifts though not mentioning her activism.
I have not found documentation of their friendship, but I assume they enjoyed a close one because his review is written in an affectionate, personal idiom and because they had several friends in common.
