In Dramatis Personae, a bourgeois W.B. Yeats caricatured these members of the Irish landed gentry: “Moore and Martyn were indeed in certain characteristics typical peasants, the peasant sinner, the peasant saint.”

On December 16, 2022, publisher Colin Smythe wrote: It was sold some years ago in auction, in the 1980s, I think in Sotheby’s. I have no idea of the buyer, but here’s a colour photo of it.
