What is the Burlington Hotel?

George Moore wrote from the Burlington Hotel in Mayfair in 1911, the year he moved from Dublin back to London and published the first volume of his memoir Hail and Farewell, Ave.

The Burlington was formerly owned by Atkinson Morley; George stayed at Morley’s eponymous hotel in Trafalgar Square in the late 1870s.
