The Aesthetics pillar of George Moore’s literary legacy includes essays of art criticism and literary criticism. They’re organized chronologically, including periodical and book publications. Each essay appears on its own web page.
At present the art criticism is text only, as originally published. Soon the texts will be augmented with images of the art discussed therein, so that visitors can see what their critic saw and was thinking about.
Literary criticism in Aesthetics is nonfiction narrative on any subject except art. Much of it is journalistic writing about literature and theater. Along with essays, there are newspaper interviews with pertinent content.
Literary essays collected in Conversations in Ebury Street and various memoirs are grouped with creative writing in Worlds. Letters to the editor are gathered with other correspondence in Letters. Many of those texts contain literary criticism, so visitors should not overlook them.
All texts in Aesthetics were transcribed from historical printed sources with silent emendations of typographical errors. None is annotated.
