Aet. 47, to a London publisher of George Moore’s play The Bending of the Bough (1900). Edward Martyn and W. B. Yeats were heavily involved in writing the play, but Martyn by this time had severed ties with the project.
The play was produced for the Irish Literary Theatre at Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre on 20 February 1900; publication as a book by T. Fisher Unwin in London followed on 21 February 1900; and by Herbert Stone in Chicago in April.
