Aet. 48, to the London publisher of Evelyn Innes and Sister Teresa. “4 January 1901” (a Friday) was inscribed on the manuscript by an unknown hand.
The “popular” revised, softcover, third edition of Evelyn Innes was published 8 July 1901 at the retail price of six pence. The first and second hardcover editions retailed in 1898 for six shillings (72 pence).
The third edition of Evelyn Innes and first edition of Sister Teresa were both published on 8 July 1901. They represent the first complete state of the duology.
Frank Benson rehearsed Diarmuid and Grania at the Comedy Theatre in London, He staged it for the Irish Literary Theatre at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin on 21 October 1901.
The play was not performed in London. According to W. B. Yeats in Dramatis Personae (1935), Mrs. Patrick Campbell lost interest when her requests for changes were rejected by George Moore.
