Aet. 48, to an Irish scholar and man of letters, cofounder of the Gaelic League. In Chapter 4 of Hail and Farewell! Ave (1911), George Moore recalled meeting him for the first time in 1899.

In 1900, Lady Gregory’s translations of Hyde’s Irish poetry appeared in Standish O’Grady’s recenty launched All Ireland Review.

Thomas Concannon’s forthcoming book was the pedagogical Mion-Chomhradh. Leabhar Cainte Gaedhilge-Bearla (Short Conversations. An Irish–English Phrase Book, Dublin, 1904).
