Menu of Letters 1900

Aet. 48, to an art and literary critic who consulted with George Moore about Catholic and convent life for his duology Evelyn Innes and Sister Teresa.

The French Impressionist Claude Monet resided at the Savoy Hotel in London, January-April 1900 while painting a series of London landmarks. His home was in Giverny, about 50 miles from Paris, France.

George’s story “My Own Funeral” appeared first in Lippincott’s Magazine (November 1901); later it was revised for inclusion in Memoirs of My Dead Life (1906).
