Aet. 46, to the London publisher of Evelyn Innes. George Moore asked Unwin whether the twelve unbound copies of an Evelyn Innes trial edition had been typeset (or sent to compositors for setting new plates).
“Evelyn Innes Revised” in the Outlook (17 September 1898) was an unsigned, full-page article claiming that George “paints women ‘comme nues dans leurs vêtements,’ as Bourget would say, and the result is an exposure dignified and exhaustive to the point of impertinence.”
