Aet. 46, to a woman of letters. Wagner’s Ring was published as La Tétralogie de l’Anneau du Nibelung (Paris: E. Dentu, 1894), translated into French and annotated by Louis-Pilate de Brinn’Gaubast with commentary by Edmond Barthélemy.
The first English translation of Wagner’s Ring was published as The Nibelung’s Ring (London (Regent Street): Schott & Co., 1877).
The Ring of the Nibelung: The Rhinegold, The Valkyrie, Siegfried, and The Twilight of the Gods (London: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trübner & Co., May 1898) was recently translated by Margaret Armour.
