Aet. 46, to the London publisher of Evelyn Innes. The newspaper cutting was presumably John Alexander Steuart’s “Primary Ideas in Literature. A Reply and Commentary,” in the Westminster Gazette (20 July 1898), arguing with George Moore’s essay of 7 July 1898.

The text of the first English edition of Evelyn Innes was reproduced in the Collection of British Authors, Volumes 3294 and 3295, of Bernhard Tauchnitz, Leipzig, for Europe (outside the United Kingdom); and also in Unwin’s Colonial Library “for circulation only in the British Colonies and Dependencies.”
