Aet. 46, to a French man of letters. This letter indicates that Dujardin’s translation of George Moore’s play The Strike at Arlingford (1893) was promised to the Paris publisher Albert Carré (1848–1938), but Carré did not publish the play or anything else by Moore or Dujardin. Moreover George’s enclosure of a revised proof of the play indicates that he was preparing a new English edition of the play, but none was published.
As usual, Dujardin inscribed the date of George’s letter on the manuscript.
