Aet. 45, to an American actress, novelist and activist. In December 1897, Elizabeth Robins was rehearsing George Bernard Shaw’s comedy You Never Can Tell (1896) under Shaw’s personal direction. The project ended in rehearsals; the play premiered at the Royalty Theatre in 1899 without Elizabeth in the cast.
