Aet. 45, to the daughter of an American financier, the wife of Sir John Leslie, 2nd Baronet (succeeded to the title in 1916) of County Monaghan, Ireland. She was a child prodigy at the piano and her love of music, which included Wagner, may have influenced George Moore’s composition of Evelyn Innes (1898).
Arnold Dolmetsch gave a house concert in Baley Street, Bedford Square, on 19 November 1897 starting at 9:00 pm.
A Wagner concert series conducted by Felix Motti got underway at Queen’s Hall on 9 and 16 November. Among other programmes offered this month was a concert series directed by Charles Lamoureaux, a concert of Wagner conducted by Hans Richter, and a concert of older music given by Arnold Dolmetsch on 24 November 1897.
