Aet. 45, to a woman of letters. George Moore thanked her for a new edition of N.H. Dole’s four-volume translation of Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace (London: Walter Scott, 1897), published in February. He sent her a copy of W.B. Yeats’s poetry The Tables of the Law. The Adoration of the Magi privately printed in 1897; originally published in the Savoy (November 1896).
