Aet. 45, to an Irish woman of letters. George Moore misspelled the name “Yates” in the manuscript. Yeats’s The Secret Rose was published in the spring of 1897; George reviewed it in the Daily Chronicle (24 April 1897). In Chapter 1 of Hail and Farewell! Ave (1911), he recalled helping Yeats revise the manuscript prior to publication (around the time of this letter).
