Aet. 43, to his brother. On 7 April 1887, Maurice joined with his uncle Joseph Blake to make £600 available to his sister Nina Moore Kilkelly. For his part, Nina’s husband had promised to insure his life. In a letter dated 1 March from India, Maurice wrote to his mother: “Nina and her husband have behaved so badly about the money advanced for their debts. Do you remember the promise to secure Joe and I by insuring their lives? This has never been done; I wrote first to Nina and then some time ago to John Kilkelly, but got no answer from either. It is the last time I shall do anything for them.” (NLI MS. 10566-2)
