Aet. 43, to a literary agent. Baron Christian Karl Bernhard Tauchnitz (1816-1895) of Leipzig published Tauchnitz Editions, a series of inexpensive, copyright English-language books for continental European readers.
Celibates (1895) was the first of 19 volumes of George Moore published by Tauchnitz. Baron, who died in August 1895, was succeeded by his nephew Karl Christian Philipp Tauchnitz.
