Aet. 43, to his brother. In the 1890s, the Irish Mail from Euston Station (London) to Holyhead (Wales) ran about 6.5 hours; the mailboat from Holyhead (Wales) to Kingstown (Ireland) ran about 3.5 hours. Then the express train from Broadstone Station (Dublin) to Boyle, Co. Roscommon, ran about 3.5 hours. Maurice was stationed with the Connaught Rangers in Boyle.

George Moore’s new literary plan was for his duology Evelyn Innes (1898) and Sister Theresa (1901).
