Aet. 42, to a man of letters whose volume of poems, In Russet and Silver (1894) began with a lengthy dedication to the ailing Robert Louis Stevenson. George Moore’s Celibates, a collection of three novellas, would be published in June 1895. In 1897 he described his inspiration for Evelyn Innes (1898) and Sister Teresa (1901) in “Mr. George Moore on Music and Literature.”
