Menu of Letters 1893

Aet. 41, to a novelist who had an affair with George Moore from the late 1880s until the the early 1890s. Extracts from her letters to him were quoted by Violet Wyndham in The Sphinx and Her Circle (1963): “There is something very peculiarly attractive about you, your talent, your intellect, your original way of looking at things, and your waywardness is also a singular charm to me” (page 22).
