Aet. 40, to Thomas Wemyss Reid, editor of the Speaker. In “Picture Dealers,” The Speaker (12 November 1892), George Moore argued that Edward Burne-Jones exhibited at the Royal Academy merely to raise his prices and increase sales. In the next issue “R.I.” pointed out that Burne-Jones exhibited after, not before, his election as an Associate.
