Aet. 40, to a journalist and literary critic. In the Speaker (13, 27 February 1892) George Moore objected to plans of Henry Tate to donate his large collection of British art to the nation. Marion Spielmann, the cofounder of Black and White, argued in favor of Tate’s proposal in the Speaker (21 February, 5 March 1892) and in Shorter’s Illustrated London News (19 March 1892). George’s comments continued in the Speaker (19 March 1892) and Illustrated London News (26 March 1892).

George published several articles about James Whistler in the Speaker, March-April 1892. His revised American edition of Vain Fortune was published in April 1892.
