Aet. 39, to an artist and actor. Under his pseudonym Bernard Gould, he performed the leading role of John Reid in George Moore’s play The Strike at Arlingford (Opéra Comique, 21 February 1893), produced by the Independent Theatre Society. George was currently the art critic for the Speaker (March 1891-November 1895). Illustrations mentioned in this letter were for his novel Vain Fortune (1891).
