Arthur Symons and George Moore adapted their play The Minister’s Call from Frank Harris’ story, A Modem Idyll (dated 21 April 1891 when published in 1894). The play was staged by the Independent Theatre Society at the Royalty (4 March 1892). The character name Knowell changed to Hooper.
