Aet. 39. to his brother. Maurice Moore returned after four years military service in India late in 1891. Balzac’s pseudonym was Lord R’Hoone. The “Balfour Acts”, i.e. The Purchase of Land (Ireland) Act (1891) stipulated that landlords who sold property under the auspices of the Land Commission would not be paid in cash, but in a specially created Guaranteed Land Stock equal in nominal value to the purchase price.
