Aet. 36, to a French novelist. In George Moore’s next critical essay about the French novelist Balzac, “Some of Balzac’s Minor Pieces” in the Fortnightly Review (1 October 1889), he did not refer constructively to Zola. His essay ”My Impressions of Zola” in the English Illustrated Magazine (1 February 1894) and his memoir A Communication to My Friends (Chapter 6) recalled this visit with Paul Alexis to Zola’s home in Médan, near Paris.
