Aet. 35, to a French businessman, author, and art collector. The first two chapters of George Moore’s Confessions of a Young Man appeared in Time (July 1887). Paul and Anna were Duret’s siblings. Émile Zola’s play Renée opened at the Vaudeville theater in Paris on 16 April 1887; it was later published by Charpentier. George’s paraphrase of Schopenhauer turned up again in chapter 9 of Confessions of a Young Man (Time, November 1887).
