A generally positive review of A Drama in Muslin appeared in the Athenaeum (24 July 1886). George Moore’s first “Lettre sur 1’Irlande” appeared in Le Figaro (31 July 1886). Subtitled “Dublin,” it is a French translation of what became the first chapter of Parnell and His Island (1887).
