Aet. 33, to his mother. George Moore planned to have Christmas dinner with the family of architect and art critic George T. Robinson. whose daughters Mary and Mabel were dear friends. He asked if his mother would do the same with her daughter Nina or brother Joseph Blake. The story “Dried Fruit” in the Court and Society Review (7 December 1885) was derived from W.S. Gilbert’s play Sweethearts (1874). Nina Moore Kilkelly’s husband John was about to become a magistrate for County Longford, Ireland. Henry Julian Moore was Mary’s youngest child.
