Aet. 33, to a Dutch journalist. Frans Netscher’s translation of A Mummer’s Wife was serialized as De Vrouw can den Comediant in Het Vaderland (5 February until 9 August 1886); then issued as a book. His translation of Literature at Nurse appeared in De Portefeuille (19 December 1885). The first novel of George Moore’s friend Frances Mabel Robinson (pseudonym William Stephenson Gregg) was Mr. Butler’s Ward, published by Vizetelly in 1885. Authorship of the unsigned The Maiden Tribute of Modern Babylon” is attributable to W.T. Stead, editor of the Pall Mall Gazette.
