Contribution by GM
“Journeys End in Lovers Meeting” pp 135-158. GM collaborated with John Oliver Hobbes (Mrs. Pearl Craigie) on this one-act play, based on a French play by Caraquell, and although his name is not mentioned in this printing, he was listed as co-author on the playbill and in contemporary
reviews when it was presented in London by Ellen Terry, 5 June 1894, at Daly’s Theatre and later at the Lyceum Theatre. “According to Moore’s account he not only provided the idea for the play … he wrote it out, dialogue and all, the lady only adding some pretty little epigrams and
speeches” (Hone, pp 202-3).
