My dear "Fellow"
Martyn is sound and I dare not venture further changes. I do not like Foley’s proposal as you know and I will modify it in rehearsal. A touch will do it and I shall be glad if you will send me your modifications.
But the proposal must remain — I speak of it in the fourth act, indeed I mention it with point, and nothing will induce me to alter the fourth act again. When it came from London it read very thin, indeed, and I spent half a day rewriting and the rest of the day dictating to the type writer.
I have discovered a new situation at the end which is a great improvement and which dictates the fifth act. The fifth act reads very weak indeed but I see how it can be reconstructed.
Martyn is delighted with the fourth act; he thinks it much better than the third. I send it to you by this post and hope you will think like Martyn. I sent you a wire today asking you to send me three acts — you can retain the copy but I must have one to send to London.
Kind regards to Lady Gregory. I am pleased that she liked the end of the third act.
Always yours
George Moore
