The Green, Southwick, Near Brighton
[Thursday, 7 October 1886]
My dear Blanche
Drop me a line and say how long you intend remaining in London; I am most anxious to see you and would not miss you for worlds. Could you come down to Brighton? I am here finishing a book for Charpentier — my Figaro articles and a lot more piled on to make a book.
The Review will no doubt be interesting, but does the editor want me to subscribe or contribute or both?
Needless to say I should like to see your work: you know how much it interests me and how much I like it. Now write at once I beg of you for I do not want to miss seeing you.
And by the way, I want you to read a book: Marius the Epicurean, by Walter Pater: it is one long ecstatic dream of delicate delights. I know of nothing more purely beautiful.
Hoping to hear from you by return, believe me my dear Blanche
Your very sincere friend
George Moore
