1896-autumn to Dugald Sutherland MacColl

Autograph letter signed, University of Glasgow, 116 words

Thursday [autumn 1896]

My dear MacColl

My publishers have written to you but have not received an answer. They want you to write a preface for the new edition of Modem Painting. I need hardly say that I shall be much pleased and greatly honoured.

You need not say much about me, a few lines will be sufficient, a mere reference will be enough, and the rest about modern French art. Do do this if you can.

Always yours

George Moore
